Right Panel - Redwood Detail
Some vineyards are planted on old Redwood or Fir or Madrone forest floors.
These soils lend a 'cedery' flavor to the wine. Mendocino vineyards in the Redwood valley such as Fife Redhead clearly show this influence of 'terroir' .

The soil at Redhead is clearly red in color, like most redwood forest floors.
